Nurses' Decision Making in Response to Patient Changes

This thesis describes nurses' assessment and management decisions in response to patient changes that occur as usual consequence of acute illness. The cues nurses use and their decisions to recognise and respond to improvement and deterioration were explored. Nurses make safe decisions that protect patients from harm and promote recovery.
