On the grain boundary network characteristics in lath martensitic steels

This research focused on the multiscale analysis of the martensite intervariant boundaries in a low-carbon, low-alloy steel. The intervariant boundary energy and its tendency to adsorb hydrogen atoms were analyzed using molecular dynamics simulations. Based on the simulation findings, various thermomechanical procedures were employed to engineer the intervariant boundary network during martensite transformation.
