Optimising poultry litter as an organic amendment in cropping systems

The study provided high-value information on recycling agricultural by-products in cropping systems with holistic consideration for environmental, social and economic benefit. The results have contributed to guidelines for cotton growers interested in using poultry litter as a substitute for synthetic fertiliser, and important soil nutrient knowledge for sustainable farming systems.
