This study identified the fatigue-related changes to cycling time trial performance by assessing kinetic, kinematic and electromyographical measures. The application of principal component analysis allowed for the identification of changes to muscle function, joint motion, and pedalling technique during prolonged and exhaustive cycling. The main findings of this research may provide an opportunity for both elite cyclists and their sport scientists to modify training to enhance performance.
