Poetry and the Elegiac Self: A Creative Thesis with Exegesis

thesis
posted on 2023-03-29, 05:23 authored by Autumn Royal
This thesis is concerned with elegiac expression from a queer perspective and is informed by a practice-led exploration of elegiac conventions presented in a collection of poetry and a theoretically informed exegesis examining Dorothy Porter’s engagement with elegiac expression. Ultimately, this thesis offers a revised understanding of elegiac expression with particular considerations to the gendered politics of grief and mourning.
