This study employed a random-order crossover methodology to investigate the use of point-of-care ultrasound for guided cannulation on patients undertaking haemodialysis with arteriovenous fistulae. Findings indicated that although the process took longer, point-of-care ultrasound was both feasible and acceptable to staff and patients and offered the potential to improve patient outcomes.
