Preventing weight and muscle concerns among preadolescents

thesis
posted on 2005-01-01, 00:00 authored by Kate. Holt
The new program, "Everybody's different, nobody else is me" was designed, implemented, and evaluated to reduce weight and muscle concerns among grade four children. The program reduced muscle concerns, and negative affect over a six month period. Additional programs are needed which include parents and the whole school. The supporting thesis presents four case studies which are described with reference to attachment theory, the language and social deficits associated with negative early life experiences, and implications for therapeutic interventions.
