Quantitative Assessment of Speech-Motor Deficits and Domain-Wise Manifestation in Cerebellar Ataxia

This research investigated the ability to capture ataxic movements caused by neurological deficits for developing quantitative assessment frameworks. The work primarily concentrated on the disability manifestation in the speech domain while also considering the domain-wise ramifications. The findings indicated that while the strong classification aspect of the extracted objective features enhanced the confidence in the machine learning capabilities, their correlations with the clinical scores and the scoring aspects provided the much needed clinical utility.
