Quenching and partitioning of tailor welded blanks during hot stamping

This thesis introduced a novel processing treatment to obtain tailored properties in a steel blank. These unique properties give rise to high intrusion resistance and high energy-absorption on specific areas of a single component, which will be beneficial to the improved weight reduction and passenger safety of commercial vehicles.
