This thesis systematically investigates Chinese settlement patterns around Bendigo during the Gold Rush. Reviewing and applying creative design process methods to 185 newspaper extracts from the period, it illustrates the close correlation between the paths connecting the possible location of an estimated 32 Chinese and European camps with the development of the city's morphology and road network.
