Romantic relationship initiation and functioning for individuals with social anxiety

This thesis outlines the background, research aims, methods and findings of three studies which investigated romantic relationship initiation and functioning for individuals with social anxiety. An initial scoping review canvassed findings relating to social anxiety, relationship functioning and quality. Subsequent studies qualitatively and quantitatively investigated the experiences of those with social anxiety in initiating and maintaining romantic relationships.
