Social control, self-control and psychosocial problems in adolescent males

thesis
posted on 2003-01-01, 00:00 authored by Ian Douglas. Bell
Results reported in this thesis indicated family structure, family functioning and beliefs about individual control of behaviour predicted adolescent male psychosocial outcomes differentially. In a combined model, family structural variables were non-significant predictors of internalising behaviours and specific beliefs about control were strong predictors of externalising behaviours. The portfolio explores issues that are relevant to the judgements routinely made by clinical psychologists through four clinical case studies.
