Socio-economic and regional variation in childhood obesity prevalence and determinants

This thesis explored socio-economic and regional variation in prevalence and determinants of childhood obesity. Inequitable distribution of physical activity resources in school neighbourhoods were found, and some associations between resources and children engaging in active transport. Analysing a community-based obesity prevention intervention by socio-economic position highlighted the need to further develop this approach to ensure equitable outcomes.
