This thesis is an exploration of the effects various non-porous materials may have on the transfer of DNA-containing biological materials. It was discovered that the physicochemical substrate and deposit characteristics have a direct impact on the deposition, persistence, and transfer of DNA and thus, this research is of great interest to the forensic and non-forensic community alike.
