This thesis describes the successful translation and innovation of chemical surface modification techniques and outcomes for recycled carbon fibre varieties in composite materials. The results demonstrate a breadth of improvements, both mechanical and chemical, through the reduction of diazonium salts to functionalise the surface of milled and nonwoven recycled carbon fibres.
