Targeted Monitoring of Opiate Process Streams and Elucidation of New Products

The separation and identification of impurities is a challenge for the pharmaceutical industry. This thesis proposes two improvements to impurity profiling methodologies, illustrates that extraction with membranes can achieve >99% product purity and optimises the isolation methods for two unknown impurities, isolating and proposing a structure for one.
