Temporal and relational entanglements: Exploring the Royal Commission into Family Violence

This research explores the experiences of women engaging with the 2016  Royal Commission into Family Violence (Victoria, Australia). Their  accounts problematise the construction of public inquiries as  independent, objective, and transparent discrete events. Instead, their  stories drew attention to complex relational constellations,  multi-directional power relations, and overlapping and ongoing  temporalities. Thus, this study proposes a critical-relational  conceptualisation that understands public inquiries as complex,  relational and non-linear processes.
