This research work reports the development of nanosensors for detection of arsenic ions in water. Engineered gold nanoparticles with molecular coating using biomolecules with predictable properties were developed to enhance the selectivity and sensitivity of the sensor. The results report prospects for the application of functionalized gold nanoparticles as novel biosensing tool for detection of arsenic.
