This study investigated a regulator of the adaptive response to exercise, MEF2, for its broader effects in adult skeletal muscle. MEF2 function was required to maintain normal muscle mass and metabolism. However, the adaptive response to exercise was conserved even in the absence of MEF2 function.<p></p>
