This thesis quantitatively investigated the sexuality of autistic females. Study findings identified that autistic females present with an increased vulnerability to a range of negative sexual experiences than autistic males and non-autistic peers. Autistic females also present with an increased diversity in their gender and sexual identities, which may also be contributing to the identified sexual vulnerabilities. Findings point to the importance of increased clinical and educational attention toward the unique needs of autistic females, and the need to provide support to foster the development of a fulfilling sexual and romantic life.
