The Undisclosed Costs of Natural Disasters on Households and Governments

This thesis examined the undisclosed costs of natural disasters on governments and households. It analysed the additional burdens of natural disasters on the fiscal system and the effects on risk preferences causing an intertemporal shift of earnings. It investigated natural disasters' effects on child wellbeing through changes in childcare arrangements.
