The Use of Valid and Reliable Screening Tools for Detecting Delirium Postoperatively in Older People

This research examined the feasibility and diagnostic validation of delirium screening tools in the recovery unit and surgical ward settings. Two screening tools found to be feasible and accurate in detecting delirium among those patients. The study also revealed that postoperative delirium is associated with a decline in the ability to perform activity of daily living independently
