This study explored the contradictory lived experiences of Middle Eastern Muslim teachers beyond the university wall and across time. This work examined the participants’ perspectives on their cultural and educational learning journeys and the consequent impact on their identities. The research raises awareness of the value of conceptualising teachers’ cultural and educational experiences, which may inform the development of TESOL teacher education programs as more inclusively cultural.
