The nature of procedural memory deficits in specific language impairment : an investigation using the serial reaction time task

This thesis investigates whether deficits in the procedural memory network can explain grammar problems in children with language disorders. Results show that procedural memory is implicated in a wide range of other difficulties. The conceptualisation and assessment of procedural memory requires refinement before a direct tie to grammar acquisition can be made.
