This thesis identifies effective approaches for teaching English spelling to Arabic native English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. This was achieved through a qualitative study involving a prototype implementation of digitally gamified learning activities. This research suggests that using digital games induces higher levels of interest and enjoyment among student users than the use of traditional revision methods.
