The rain ants of Sarayaku

This research inverts the colonial image of army ants. Inspired by the weaving performances of the Amazonian community of Sarayaku, novel representations of these ants as rain messengers are produced through technology-based performances that combine multispecies ethnography with decolonial tactics using electronic media, machine algorithms, and olfactory experiments.
