The transdiagnostic utility of negative urgency and distress tolerance across substance use, eating, and borderline personality disorders

thesis
posted on 2023-11-27, 04:51 authored by Sophie Mattingley
This thesis examines the shared and conjoint roles of emotion-driven impulsivity (negative urgency) and distress tolerance across substance use, eating, and borderline personality disorders. The research presented in this thesis supported the view that these two constructs are distinct transdiagnostic vulnerability factors and intervention targets. Further longitudinal and experimental research into these constructs is required to bolster transdiagnostic interventions.
