This thesis examines how early life experiences and decisions regarding education and childbearing affect own and offspring's outcomes. It finds that policy changes targeting the lower end of the educational distribution suggest a weak education-health gradient. Moreover, the research confirms that being born to an adolescent mother decreases the likelihood of surviving early childhood.
