This dissertation deals with one distinct question: 'How can occupants control a building adaptive fasade to meet their comfort preferences individually through a smart user interface (e.g., smartwatch) while building operators can monitor the energy consumption?'. And, personalized real-time control is a key aspect that is addressed by an integrated simulation-based workflow in this research as a proof-of-concept.
