Trace metal speciation in the Pieman River catchment, western Tasmania

The Pieman River catchment has seen continuous mining of mineral deposits since the 1870's. Tributaries of this river which receive mining effluent have elevated metal concentrations and are of regulatory concern. This study has investigated the forms of heavy metals in the river in order to determine their ecological significance.
