Tribology of lubricated nitrocarburised and titanium carbonitride surfaces

An original feature of the study is that it investigated the influence of surface coating on the chemical species formed during lubricant degradation. It is believed that this is the first time that this has been studied and it has found some very intriguing and interesting variations in behaviour between different surfaces.
