Two Indonesian Translations of Animal Farm: Linguistics, Ideology and Equivalence

This study brings together linguistics, literary criticism, and translation studies. The study argues that translation remains a linguistic operation and a translated text is subject to ideological intervention. Both linguistic and ideological aspects of translations shed light on the degree of equivalence between a source text and its target text.
