This study probed the ion interactions and dynamics in novel ionic liquid electrolytes for lithium battery applications. The findings show how nuclear magnetic resonance, complemented with molecular dynamics simulations, can be used to illuminate ion dynamics in complex ionic liquid electrolyte mixtures.
