Understanding Structural, Dynamics, and Temperature-Dependent Phase Behavior of Ammonium-based Organic Ionic Plastic Crystals

thesis
posted on 2024-10-31, 05:28 authored by Nanditha Sirigiri
This research investigates organic ionic plastic crystals (OIPCs) and their sensitivity to temperature, revealing phase transitions driven by molecular motion of tetramethyl ammonium bis(fluorosulfonyl)Imide through simulations and experiments uncovering stable structures, anisotropic expansion, and the impact of defects on local dynamics and conductivity. Doping with LiFSI/NaFSI enhances ionic conductivity to inform electrolyte design.
