Understanding the cognitive, emotional, and neurophysiological effects of built environments

thesis
posted on 2023-08-04, 08:56 authored by Isabella Simone Bower
This thesis investigated whether design characteristics of the buildings we occupy modulate neural networks and autonomic activity involved in cognitive processes, such as attention, perception, and emotion regulation. It provides a new paradigm for understanding human response to the built environment, which has broad implications for mental health and wellbeing.
