Understanding the relationship between impulsivity and cognitive biases in the treatment of substance misuse

This thesis examined the interactive relationship between impulsivity and cognitive biases, and the application of this association in substance misuse treatment. Findings indicated that impulsivity may contribute to the development and maintenance of substance misuse behaviour, and suggested the potential applicability of Cognitive Bias Modification interventions for impulsive substance misusers.
