This thesis addresses the development of sodium-ion batteries (NIBs) as an alternative to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to lithium scarcity. It focuses on optimizing hard carbon anodes derived from cotton textiles, exploring the effects of different carbonization protocols and precursor morphologies on their electrochemical performance. The research demonstrates scalable and sustainable methods for enhancing NIBs using waste textiles.
