Wet Spinning of Keratinous Bi-Constituent Fibres

This study investigates novel routes to dissolve New Zealand Crossbred wool in a new economical, environmental friendly solvent system. It also covers newly developed methods to wet-spin the dissolved wool fibres in combination with cellulose acetate as a backbone polymer (spinning-dope). And it finally evaluates the physical properties of wet-spun fibres with commercial cellulose acetate and wool fibres also a future work how to improve the fibres tenacity.
