Writing Trauma, Making Fiction: dialogic practices after Bakhtin, Levinas, Derrida

This thesis explores the experience of a traumatised author ethically engaging in creative practice, emphasising ethical self-other relationships as envisaged by Bakhtin, Levinas and Derrida, and in contrast to lived experience. The thesis reconnoitres the internal landscape of trauma through its creative artefact and an exploration of trauma theory and affect theory.<p></p>
