What “Fibrolite” is ...
“FIBROLITE” is a Strong, Durable, and Fire Retardant material, manufactured solely from Portland Cement and Asbestos Fibre into various classes of building and roofing materials, including Flat Sheets for walls, ceilings, partitions, etc., and Tiles and Corrugated Sheets for Roofing.
“FIBROLITE” is made on a laminated process, being built up, layer upon layer, like the leaves of a book. These layers are strongly and rigidly reinforced throughout with the long, indestructible Asbestos Fibre, and are finally united into one homogeneous, rock-like mass—forming a dense sheet of great tensile strength and durability.
Made thus from two indestructible, fire retardant materials of mineral extraction, HARDIE’S GENUINE “FIBROLITE” is a permanently durable building material. It contains absolutely no vegetable matter—nothing to rot, rust, corrode, or burn. IT IMPROVES WITH AGE!

No matter wliat type of building you propose erecting—you can build it for less with HARDIE’S "FIBROLITE”!

By building with “FIBROLITE” you will not only save in initial costs . . . maintenance costs will be practically eliminated, as it is not necessary to paint "FIBROLITE.” It contains nothing to deteriorate. Constantly improving with age, its First Cost is its Last Cost.
Quick Construction—Less Labour :
"FIBROLITE” enables dwellings and all classes of buildings to be erected easily, quickly, and at a minimum cost for labour. Supplied in big, sturdy building sheets in a large range of handy stock sizes, ‘‘FIBROLITE” is easily and quickly fixed—with considerably less labour than is necessary with most building materials. This big saving in labour materially reduces the total erected cost of the building.
“Fibrolite” Building Products arc extensively used in the building of Homes approved and financed by the State Advances Corporation of Queensland.
“THE FIRST COST THE LAST COST"
“Fibrolite” Eliminates Waste
AsHardie’s Genuine “FIBROLITE” is obtainable in 44 handy stock sizes (see page 3), waste can be entirely eliminated where this economical building material is used for walls, ceilings, partitions, etc.
No Painting.—As it is not
necessary to paint “FIBROLITE," this item of expense can be eliminated. If painting is desired, all that is necessary is an application of our “Fibro-C” Cold Water Paint, which costs about 50 per cent, less than oil paint. Think what this saving means to you.
Low Freight Costs.—"FIBROLITE” is carried by the Queensland Government Railways Department at favourable rates of freight, enabling “FIBROLITE” dwellings, etc., to be erected in the country for very little extra over and above the cost in the near suburbs.
“Fibrolite” Minimises Fire Risks
Made solely from Portland Cement and Asbestos Fibre, “FIBROLITE” is a Fire Retardant building material— thus, when used for exterior and interior walls and ceilings, it reduces the Fire Hazard to a minimum. This factor of fire safety is one of paramount importance, especially for country dwellings and week-end cottages. Keep in mind, too, that “FIBROLITE” will enable you to build a fire retardant dwelling at a lower cost than can be obtained by the use of any other building material.

“Fibrolite" required supplied on unique fire retardant qualities of
ratuest- “FIBROLITE,” allow up to 40%
reduction in rates for dwellings or other types of buildings where Hardie’s “FIBROLITE” Asbestos Cement Sheets are used for walls, ceilings, etc., in place of materials that are nonresistant to fire. Think what this yearly saving alone means to you!
White Ant and Borer Proof
One of the important advantages obtained by using Hardie's "FIBROLITE” Asbestos Cement Sheets for exterior and interior walls, partitions, etc., is that this durable building material is proof against the ravages of white ants and borers.
"FIBROLITE” is also proof against rodents.
Proof against Rot,
Rust and Corrosion:
Unlike fibrous plaster sheets, paperpulp wallboards, and many other lining materials, Hardie’s Genuine "FIBROLITE” contains no vegetable matter of any kind to rot or corrode. It is for this reason "FIBROLITE” is unaffected by conditions of dampness so ruinous to walls and ceilings lined with plaster, paper-pulp, and metal lining materials.
You will appreciate the many advantages of utility, convenience, and economy you will obtain by using Hardie’s Genuine “FIBROLITE” Asbestos Cement Sheets for exterior and interior walls, ceilings, partitions, gable-ends, etc.
“FIBROLITE” comes to you in broad, sturdy building sheets—in a large range of handy stock sizes, including widths of i2in., i8in., 2ft., 3ft. and 4ft., and lengths ranging from 3ft. to 12ft. Possessing maximum strength and rigidity, these big, full-bodied sheets are easy to- handle —easy to cut—easy to nail—EASY TO FIX. They are quickly erected. You simply nail them to the wall studs and/or ceiling joists —nail “FIBROLITE” Cover Moulding over the joints, cover the angles with “FIBROLITE” Angle Moulding, and the job is finished. No waste! Less Labour! No mess! No litter! No painting! A clean, durable and attractive job . . . quickly achieved. •.
“FIBROLITE” construction is the quick, easy and economical way to build walls, ceilings, and partitions of all kinds. Moreover, it is the practical way, because the result is both dependable and permanent.
“FIBROLITE” is quickly erected, but once up it is there to stay— nothing to rot—nothing to corrode—nothing to crumble—nothing to fall—nothing to rust—you have a permanent job AT MINIMUM COST.
“FIBROLITE” builds walls, ceilings, partitions, etc., that are always artistic . . . that will last as long as the building . . . always trouble-proof .. . white ant proof . . . borer proof .. . fire retardant... costing little or nothing for maintenance ... A CONSTANT SOURCE OF SATISFACTION TO THE OWNER!
