Metaphysics of love as moral responsibility in nursing and midwifery
Fitzgerald, Leslie Robert. 2005, Metaphysics of love as moral responsibility in nursing and midwifery, Ph.D. thesis, School of International and Political Studies, Deakin University.
This thesis explored the question of "what love is in nursing and midwifery". The answer is moral responsibility, a form of love that centres on the ability/possibility of a nurse to transcend their personal being as a self-project and to be "for" the patient as a first priority in living out the command to be responsible.
