Investigates the influences on participation in competitive and non-competitive physical activity of adolescent girls. Individual and collective interviews were conducted with thirty Year 10 girls. Results revealed the major influence on participation was skill level. Other significant issues included boys' domination, body image and teaching behaviours and practices.
