A systematic review indicated little prior consideration of dietary adherence in this population. A pilot questionnaire, using the theory of planned behaviour as a framework, was subsequently created. This accounted for 59.2% of the variance in adherence intention, and 49.7% of the variance in adherence behaviour (along with psychological distress).
