Summary Decapod crustaceans include popular seafoods such as shrimps, crabs, crayfish and lobsters. High-throughput DNA sequencing was used to study mitochondrial genomes of poorly-known decapod species and conduct large-scale comparative genomic studies. The thesis findings provide valuable insights into the evolution of decapod crustaceans and generated new bioinformatics tools.
