Summary This thesis goes inside the spectacular and problematic world of the bush doof, giving particular focus to the aesthetic experience it imparts. It exposes a tension latent within an individualistic ideology that over-values individual parts at the expense of the wider social whole, and reveals how the doof is both an expression of and challenge to this ideology and its problematics.
